After being off of the world stage for 123 years, the second Polish Republic came to be on November 11th, 1918 when World War I was finally over. Poland ever since has seen so many figures grow and develop into figures that haven't only influenced Poland's history, but also the history of the world. Figures such as Roman Dmowski, Jozef Pilsudski, Maria Curi Sklodowska, and Ignacy Jan Paderewski have all change the way we understand the sciences, literature, music, and warfare. Poland would only stay around for about 21 years, as in 1929 it was invaded by Nazi Germany and the Societ Union. So now, with it being the 100th anniversary of this event I wanted to take time to remember this part of Poland's history. Poland being my motherland and my birthplace, it has a special place in my heart. I cheer on for every achievement we have, for we are a nation of many intelligent and elegant people, and we are projected to grow even further. Live on Poland, be free Poland, for you are Poland.
The pictures I included are for a play I saw today at the Polish Language School under the patronage of the Jagiellonian University in Burr Ridge, IL.
